NFT Market Recap

On Tuesday Opensea traded just $25.54 million, a further decline in volume. Meanwhile, Solana's main marketplace, Magic Eden, closed the day with $19 million in volume. This marks one of the first days where Magic Eden volume has come so close to Opensea, and is a direct result of the Trippin Ape' launch.

Trippin' Apes as expected sold out yesterday, with the floor currently sitting at 52 SOL, that's over 10x the initial 4 SOL mint price, with sales as high as 400 SOL.

With 95%+ of the supply being reserved for whitelisted wallets and the rest being botted in millieseconds due to Solana's cheap gas fees. Many have started to complain about how unfair the current meta of whitelists on Solana really is.

Most whitelist spots are usually reserved for community members in other projects, or for those who complete specific tasks.

The worst part about yesterday was that immediately after the whitelist sale, the floor price was already sitting at 70 SOL, however, it has since fallen down to 52 SOL, meaning that anybody who purchased from the secondary market is already sitting at a decent loss whilst those who were whitelisted are still in huge profits.

Unfortunately, with the prevalence of people botting launches in the Solana space, it's hard to find a fair solution.

As the SOL market continues to receive fresh traction and the ETH market remains quiet, we will look to include more Solana coverage in our daily write-ups.

Outside of Solana, most of the ETH market has looked pretty bleak.

Major projects all saw small losses as the bleed continues, this included:

  • CryptoPunks | 47.60 ETH, -2.76%

  • Bored Ape Yacht Club | 91 ETH, -3,6%

  • Otherdeed | 3.09 ETH, -1.9%

  • Degen Toonz | 2.85 ETH, -4.36%
