24hr Market Overview π
NFT Market Volume
Saturday saw Opensea volume receive a colossal spike in trading volume, closing the day at $177.53 million, up from $66.69 million on Friday.
This huge spike in volume can be attributed to one of the most successful NFT project launches in history, Moonbirds, which traded 36,458 ETH yesterday. This level of trading volume is unprecedented in a single day, especially for a new project and we have yet to find evidence of any project which has had such a successful launch.
Elsewhere in the markets, as the majority of attention was focused on Moonbirds, other projects received very small amounts of volume.
Cool Cats received a small surge in volume yesterday, trading 897 ETH, up from 383 ETH on Friday. As did Azuki, which closed the day at 730 ETH in sales, up from 504 ETH on Friday.
NFT Floor Changes
With the insane success of Moonbirds, many NFT enthusiasts rushed to sell their personal holdings in other projects, in order to try and purchase a Moonbird. This led to an overall red day for much of the NFT market, with Moonbirds by far the biggest winner.
Moonbirds floor currently sits at 12.7 ETH, netting those who minted yesterday a profit of over 10 ETH ($30,000) already.
A private NFT community which we mentioned last week, Proof Collective, gave their holders 2 free mints for the Moonbirds launch, netting their holder's instant profits. Proof Collective has since witnessed a small sell-off, with the floor now sitting at 75.69 ETH, down 10.59% as users who purchased group access for the free mint no longer require the pass.
Elsewhere, projects such as Cool Cats (6.3 ETH, -5.97%) and Mutant Ape Yacht Club (24.8 ETH, -6.94%) saw small losses as holders looked to move their liquidity into Moonbirds.
