NFT Market Recap
On Friday, Opensea traded just $15.91 million, the lowest day so far in 2022. These numbers are a stark reminder that the NFT space can at times be very illiquid.
Whilst Ethereum continued to decline, slipping below $1000 this morning, collections have remained resilient. This is encouraging to see and differs from the past few weeks where the market dumping led to panic selling of NFTs.
The strongest collections saw neutral and some even slightly positive days, with their floor price in ETH increasing. If you're long-term bullish on ETH - these price movements may offer the opportunity to accumulate more.
Bored Ape Yacht Club (86.85 ETH, +0.44%) has found itself some solid support in this area, having not dropped in price in nearly a week, and so has Cryptopunks (49.45 ETH, +1.12%).
Other movements included:
Otherdeed | 2.19 ETH, +5.8%
CLONE X | 9.9 ETH, +3.66%
Azuki | 9.75 ETH, -2.3%
Doodles | 11.49 ETH, +7.37%
Cool Cats | 3.55 ETH, -3.53%
With the NFT markets being a risky asset class, it's clear to see why volume is so low during these turbulent times. It's encouraging to see that projects are no longer instantly dumping when the price of Ethereum drops, which could signal that NFTs were oversold or that the weakest holders have now been flushed.
However, with no end in sight for the stock markets and crypto, we will have to wait and see what happens next.
